Discussion of Documentary XUETA ISLAND
Dani Rotstein
May 7, 1:30 pm
The Spanish island of Majorca has a secret history — a group of families has been discriminated against for centuries because their surnames have a connection to a once suppressed Jewish heritage. The documentary Xueta Island explores the fascinating legacy of the Xuetas: a unique group of families on the Balearic Island of Majorca who are believed to be descendants of the island’s Inquisition-era Jewish population. Thursday, May 4th and Friday, May 5th – watch the free Boston premiere of the film, Xueta Island on your home device. On Sunday, May 7th at 1:30 pm join a discussion and Q & A with co-director Dani Rotstein via ZOOM.
