The purpose of this project is to identify the ancestral family surnames and places of origin for the members of the genealogy class. The information will be shared among students and teachers to see if there are any matches. Please use modern town and country names. You can submit up to six ancestral surnames.

Instructions:

1. Go to JewishGen Communities Database page at: https://www.jewishgen.org/Communities/Search.asp
2. Put the town name in the “Search for Jewish Community” box and click.
3. You will find the modern name of the town and country in the box on the left of the chart
4. Enter your name, up to 6 ancestral surnames with their associated towns and countries in the spaces below.
