Do you find it challenging to spark the interest of younger family members in their own family history? This is a goal that many of us share. With Passover approaching, Seders and other family gatherings can provide a wonderful opportunity to inspire those “genealogy skeptics”!
We invite you to a very special JGSGB program, “Generational Bridges: Strategic Storytelling and Games to Engage Younger Family Members.” This event will feature an expert talk by Professional Storyteller Kona Morris with tips and tricks for spinning a great tale, as well as lightning talks by three of our own members on their personal secrets for success.
• Why Stories Matter: Gilda Bruckman discusses the psycho-social value of sharing our family narratives.
• Sparking the Conversation: Heidi Urich describes genealogy Jeopardy! and questions to get your family talking.
• The Art of Surprise: Jeanne Margolskee reveals how to slip in family stories when they least expect it!
We encourage JGSGB members to invite your own younger family to attend the program with you, mid-teens and older suggested. Mark your calendars and forward the Zoom link to your loved ones so you can be inspired and learn the art of storytelling together!
