Program Description:

Shtetls, Jewish market towns, were vibrant centers of Jewish life and tradition.  Evgenia Kempinski will bring the shtetl to life and immerse you in these communities.  Evgenia’s virtual tours are the next best thing to being there!  Learn about the food, traditions, language, beliefs, jobs, community structures, and other important elements of everyday life in the shtetl.

Presenter Bio:

Evgenia Kempinski, originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, now in Israel, has been an official tour guide to Russia and the Baltic states for over 15 years. She runs the popular Online Jewish Travel Club, currently offering virtual tours to the former Soviet Union.  The tours provide a Jewish perspective that seeks to unite Jews from different countries through love of travel and art, and an appreciation of our Jewish Heritage. Evgenia has lectured extensively.
