Beginners Workshop on Jewish Genealogy

November 4, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm EST

at Congregation Beth El Atereth Israel (Watch Party*)

Carol Clingan
Debbie Lerner
Carol Clingan and Debbie Lerner, who together have more than 30 years of genealogy research experience, will present a workshop tailored for beginners on the process of researching your family tree. The first half will present the resources, databases and records that are most helpful to begin researching your family history. The second half will apply this information to a case study, demonstrating what you can find and how you can use it to tell your family story. Their core message is that you CAN research your family tree and will be off to a great start after you attend this workshop.

The Beginners Workshop is free for members and  $10 for non-members, payable at the door. This fee also includes admission to our monthly program starting at 1:30 pm featuring lectures by Gene Fax  How World War I Transformed the American Jewish Community and Harry Penn My Childhood in Wartime Lithuania: Life-long Impacts of Surviving the Holocaust.

There will be an optional Buffet Lunch (catered kosher) at 12 Noon for $20.  Advance reservations for the lunch are required and must be purchased online by October 30.  Lunch cannot be purchased at the event.
