February 9, 2020 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm EST
at Temple Emanuel
Exciting change and movement is happening at JewishGen.org. Second Talk: Jewish Migration Patterns: Jewish Life in Poland during the 16th – 18th Centuries.
Using maps, pictures and documents, Avraham Groll will show the patterns of Jewish migration to Poland between the 16th and 18th centuries. Through a discussion of historical events, including the “Golden Age of Polish Jewry” and the reaction to Shabtai Tzvi, we will learn how the Jewish experience in Poland set the stage, in part, for the eventual rise of the Hasidic movement.
Avraham Groll is the Director of JewishGen.org. He is passionate about connecting people with their Jewish roots and helping them experience what it means to be part of the Jewish people. He is a frequent lecturer on a variety of Jewish genealogical and historical topics.
