Tammy Hepps – The Ancestor Deep Dive: How to Find Out Everything There is to Possibly Know About Your Ancestors
September 17, 2017 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm EDT
at American Legion Nonantum Post 440 (Hybrid Meeting*)
JGSGB Members are invited to bring a friend for free to this program!
Too often, we do ancestral research by relying on the usual sources such as Ancestry.com. Tammy Hepps brings a fresh perspective that takes advantage of the latest technology. She will show us how to plan our research based on what we want to know, and how to find sources most likely to contain the information we are seeking. Using a systematic approach and a case study, she will demonstrate how surprising discoveries can come from unexpected places.
Tammy A. Hepps is a technologist, storyteller and life-long genealogist. She is the creator of Treelines.com, a family story-sharing website and winner of the RootsTech 2013 Developer Challenge. Hepps is a popular speaker at the major genealogy conferences and was invited to present her family history research on the Jewish community of Homestead, PA at the Library of Congress (see article). She has a degree in computer science from Harvard.
